How to Register
- Locate the Berwyn Police Department – Police Officer job listing and click Sign Up.

- Select your preferred testing option: Online (In-Home) or In-Person.
💻 Online (In-Home) Testing
Candidates may complete the test remotely using a mobile phone, tablet, or computer with an internet connection.
To schedule an online test:
- Click Schedule Test
- Click Accept
- Select Online In-Home Testing from the left-side column
- Click “I Understand” and proceed with registration
🏢 In-Person Written Test Option
To register for the in-person test:
- Select the event on the calendar
- Click Next
- Complete your registration
Candidates are encouraged to register early to secure their preferred testing option.

Auxiliary Police Officer

Training & Compensation
Candidates who successfully pass all tests will be placed into an employment eligibility pool and selected as needed. Candidates selected for employment must successfully complete approximately 175 hours of police-oriented training, including the State of Illinois mandated firearms training course. All training is conducted at the Berwyn Police Department during evening and weekend hours.
- $16.00/hour during training
- $23.00/hour upon successful completion of all required training
Preliminary Orientation Meeting:
Date: Monday, October 12, 2026
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: Berwyn Police Department Community Room (6401 W. 31st Street, Berwyn, IL)
The Preliminary Orientation Meeting is optional and provides applicants with an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about the Auxiliary Police Officer position, and better understand the hiring process.
