Pawfficer Romeo

    Home Pawfficer Romeo

    Pawfficer Romeo is a uniquely trained Therapy dog at the berwyn police department who is skilled to provide comfort and affection to children at schools, hospitals, victims of crime and victims of disaster. Romeo Loves to provide comfort and cuddles to everyone he meets.

     

     

     

    The berwyn police department would like to inform our community that pawfficer Romeo is currently light duty and will not be attending community events until cleared by his veterinarian. Romeo has been experiencing issues with his paws that are causing discomfort and difficulty walking or standing for long periods of time. His health and well being are our top priority, and we are working closely with his veterinarian to support his recovery. For now Romeo needs rest and time to heal. We appreciate the community's understanding, continued support, and love for Romeo, and we will keep everyone updated on his progress.

    Berwyn Police Department Swears .. ,.,._,,,,_ --- in Therapy Dog, Pawfficer Romeo (Berwyn, IL) - On Friday, November 19, 2021 the Berwyn Police Department held a special ceremony to swear in the newest member of their staff, Pawfficer Romeo. Pawfficer Romeo was sworn in by Berwyn City Clerk, Margaret Paul with Mayor Robert J. Lovero, Police Chief Michael D. Cimaglia and other members of the Police Department staff in attendance. Romeo is a 2 year old rescue dog who comes to the BPD from SIT Service Dogs (Ava, IL). Romeo is a uniquely trained tl1erapy dog who is skilled to provide comfort and affection to children at schools, hospitals, victims of crime and victims of disasters. Additionally, a therapy dog can provide the same benefits to our Berwyn Police Department employees. The initial cost of training the therapy dog was covered by the Police Department. All food, treats, and care supplies have been graciously donated by local businesses. The Berwyn Police Department welcomes Romeo with open arms and looks forward to him working closely with the Community Relations unit to continue to spread pawsitivity throughout the community.
