COMMUNITY ALERT
Dear Berwyn Residents,
On March 19, 2025 at approximately 1:43 p.m. Berwyn Police Officers responded to multiple calls for gun shots fired on the 1200 block of Cuyler Ave. Upon arrival, responding officers located one (1) male victim who sustained a gunshot wound to his chest. The victim was transported to a local area hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Officers canvassed the area and recovered several spent shell casings on the 1200 block of Cuyler Ave. as well as on Roosevelt Rd. near Ridgeland Ave. Property damage to multiple vehicles and one (1) home on the 1200 block of Cuyler Ave. were also reported.
Upon further investigation, officers ascertained that this incident stemmed from a dispute that occurred in Chicago and continued into Berwyn/Oak Park. The victim refused to cooperate with detectives. The Berwyn Police Department believes this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community at this time.
This investigation is ongoing. The Berwyn Police Department reminds the community, “If you see something, say something.”

Spring Safety Tips for Animals:
- Food should never be left out. That can be a welcome invitation for coyotes and/or rodents.
- Always walk dogs on a leash. Don’t allow dogs to roam freely through parks or other public areas. This helps prevent pets from becoming lost and keeps everyone safe.
- Keep bird feeders high off the ground and secure. Remove any excess bird feed from the ground to avoid attracting small animals/rodents.
- Small dogs should be supervised at all times in the backyard, especially after dark.
