In 2007, The Berwyn Police Department joined the West Suburban Major Crimes Task Force called WESTAF, a non-for-profit organization. The goal of WESTAF is to combine the expertise and resources of several police departments to investigate the most serious of crimes within your community. In addition to the investigative aspect of the unit, the task force also has their own Evidence Technicians/Forensic Investigators who respond to and process crime scenes.
WESTAF has also recently construed a Traffic Unit that is responsible for responding to and investigating serious auto accidents.
