    Dear Residents of Berwyn, It is my privilege to share a message with our community as we reflect on the past year and look ahead to the future of public safety in our city. As the new Chief of Police, I am honored to have the opportunity to serve this vibrant community. I want to express my gratitude for the trust you have placed in me. With 26 years of experience solely with the Berwyn Police Department, I am deeply committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment where every voice is heard and matters. Building strong relationships with all of you is essential, and I believe that trust is a foundation of effective policing. The Berwyn Police Department remains deeply committed to our mission of providing professional, fair, and compassionate service to every resident, business owner, and visitor to our community. Our department's success is the dedication of the men and women who serve the City of Berwyn. Our officers and staff work every day to uphold the highest standards of integrity and ensure that Berwyn remains a safe and welcoming place to live, work, and raise a family. Every day, they demonstrate courage and a genuine commitment to protecting others. Whether responding to emergencies, investigating crimes, or assisting residents in need, their work reflects the values that define our department. I understand the importance of open and meaningful communication, and I am committed to engaging with our community through regular meetings and forums. I want to hear your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions, and I will ensure that our department remains transparent in its operations and decision-making. In addition, I will utilize social media and other communication channels to keep residents informed with timely updates and important announcements. Your participation is vital-whether it's attending a meeting or simply sharing your ideas. Community engagement opportunities that bring officers and residents together play a critical role in preventing and solving crime. This is a key component of our strategy, because public safety is built on trust-and that trust is strengthened through strong partnerships. My goal is to foster a collaborative environment where every resident of the City of Berwyn feels empowered to contribute to our shared safety. In our efforts to enhance public safety, I am excited to continue existing initiatives and introduce new programs that will focus on crime prevention, youth engagement, mental health support, and accreditation of the department. Equally important to our mission is the continued professional development of our officers and staff. Policing today requires constant learning and adaptation. Our personnel regularly participate in advanced training to ensure they are prepared to meet the evolving challenges of modern law enforcement. This includes training in crisis interventions, de-escalation techniques, investigative techniques, community engagement, and the responsible use of new technologies. By investing in education and training, we ensure that our officers are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve our community with expertise and compassion.
